The EAST Center is in charge of establishing the Eastern European Migration Network (EEMN) under the Central European Initiative aegis. The network’s objective is to strengthen the Eastern European research centers which study migration issues and therefore to contribute to new research in the field and to offer sound policy recommendations to respective state bodes, international organizations and specialized NGOs.
The EEMN will identify research priorities, share best practices in migration policies and define effective ways of migration flows monitoring in the ten Eastern European countries. These include, according to the definition by the United Nations Statistics Division, Belarus, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia and Ukraine.
