On August 21-25 2017, EAST Center research fellow Andrei Yeliseyeu took part in the IX AEBR Forum for the Border Youth organized by the Association of European Border Regions and hosted by The Lappenranta University of Technology (LUT), the Saimaa University of Applied Sciences (UAS) and the Regional Council of South Karelia.
The forum’s programme included visits to the LUT and Saimaa UAS, the Karelian Resource Center for NGOs and lectures on the Russia and Karelia cross-border cooperation programmes.
The Association of European Border Regions (AEBR) is a Europe-wide organisation representing border and cross-border regions with the aim to highlight their particular problems, opportunities, tasks and projects and make them understandable and visible, to represent their overall interests towards national and international authorities and institutions, to initiate, support and coordinate their co-operation throughout Europe.
